What we see in restaurants and retail stores.
Network and payment problems cause the most damage during the busiest hours.
Common problems
Card readers lose their connection during the dinner rush, the guest network is shared with the registers, and the ordering page loads slowly on phones.
What we do about it
We build the network for a busy room, with the registers, cameras, and guests kept apart, and put the point of sale on a wired or reserved connection. You get a fast website with ordering or booking that works on a phone, and one number to call when something stops working.
The cost of unmanaged IT
If the registers cannot take cards during a busy service, sales are lost. A weak Google listing sends customers to nearby competitors.
What we handle for a restaurant or retail store.
Booking and scheduling systems
Reservations, appointments, reminders, and the repetitive admin work automated so staff stay on the floor.

How it works
How we start with a restaurant or shop.
- 01
Assessment
We review the network, the registers, the cameras, the website, and the Google listing, and document the findings.
- 02
Stabilize the network and payments
The network and the point of sale come first. After that we move on to the website, online ordering or booking, and the Google listing.
- 03
Managed, month after month
We monitor the network and registers and go over the Google listing and reviews every month.
Technical details.
Why does the card reader drop off?
Usually one consumer router doing everything: guests, registers, cameras, and music. We replace it with a business firewall and access points, put the registers on their own network with priority, and give guests a separate one with a bandwidth limit.
Do you support our point of sale?
We handle the network, the devices, and the internet it runs on, and we call the POS vendor with you when the software itself is the problem.
What about the cameras?
Cameras go on their own network segment, recordings are kept for the period you choose, and remote viewing is set up on your phone without opening the system to the internet.
What is PCI DSS, and does it apply to us?
PCI DSS is the security standard the card brands set for every business that takes cards. The PCI Security Standards Council calls it a baseline for protecting payment account data. Keeping the registers on their own network and their firmware current is part of it. When the yearly questionnaire comes, we fill in the network answers with you.
Can you take over the website and menu updates?
Yes. Website management includes menu, hours, and photo updates, hosting, backups, and speed, so you can send us a change and we make it.
What happens to texts and chat messages after we close?
Guests and customers message a restaurant or shop after hours, when nobody is by the phone, and a missed text sends them to the next place on the list. A shop or a restaurant can put those texts and website chat messages in the same inbox as its calls with business texting for restaurants and retail stores, tied to the customer's own record, so a manager answers every channel from one screen.
Questions
Questions about IT for restaurants and shops.
Can we reach you after hours?
Yes. Managed clients can call or open a ticket after hours, and if the whole business is down we treat it as an emergency.
Can we start with just the network?
We take on network work only as part of a managed plan. We start with an assessment of the network and point of sale, then move to ongoing management.
Can you help with online ordering and reservations?
Yes. We set up the ordering and reservation system, connect it to the website and Google listing, and test how orders move to the kitchen or front desk. The appointment side of that setup is online booking for restaurants and retail stores.
How do we get more reviews?
A review request after each visit, by text or a card at the table, linked to your Google listing. We set it up and review the results with you, as part of review management for restaurants and retail stores.
